About AstarteCore
AstarteCore builds WordPress plugins for people who care how their sites actually work. Precision tools. Honest pricing. No bloat.
The Name
Astarte was the principal goddess of the Phoenicians. Patron of Sidon, Tyre, and Byblos. Her symbol: a star within a circle, the morning and evening star, Venus. Ancient coins from Beirut bore her image.
She was the goddess of love and war simultaneously. She carried civilization across the Mediterranean rade routes on Phoenician ships that carried the alphabet, glassblowing, purple dye, and the gods.
Today, trade routes are fiber optic cables and the Mediterranean is the internet.
The name is deliberate. AstarteCore carries something from that coast into the modern web, the same drive to build tools worthy of the journey, and leave wherever they land a little better for having arrived.
Who Is Behind This
Samer Beyhum. Filmmaker, director, teacher, developer. Based in Beirut, Lebanon.
I founded the Beirut Film Center, where I teach filmmaking. I make films that challenge what we think we know about each other. I also build WordPress plugins.
Those two things are not as far apart as they sound. Both are about craft. Both are about making something that works and means something at the same time.
AstarteCore was born from a desire for more effective tools. I started building custom solutions to address common frustrations and help streamline the creative process for others.
What We Build
A suite of WordPress plugins for developers, designers, and site builders. Each one solves a specific problem cleanly.
The free tier is genuinely free. The premium tier exists because this is real work by a real person, and a fair exchange matters. Every plugin page tells you exactly what you get before you pay anything.
A Note on Process
These plugins are built in collaboration with Claude AI. I want to be direct about that because the industry's silence on AI-assisted development is a form of dishonesty I have no interest in.
Claude accelerates the work. Every decision, every line of code, every release is reviewed, tested, and owned by me. The judgment is mine. So are the mistakes.
I tell my students at the film school that the camera did not replace the director. It gave the director a tool capable of something neither could do alone. This is the same principle.
One person. One city. A serious suite of professional tools. That is what AstarteCore is.
